Armadillo Yacht Club
Armadillo Yacht Club began as a running joke among friends who gather most summers at a backyard pool. We dubbed ourselves after our unofficial mascot: a metal armadillo yard sculpture perched on the pool’s waterfall feature. Naturally, AYC was born.
Everyone in the group has a title—Chief Floaty Officer, Master of Activities, and so on. I claimed Chief Design Officer. That role quickly expanded. First came a full logo exploration, which the group reviewed and voted on (very democratically). Then came the merch.
I designed everything from swimsuits and flip-flops to stickers for the motorized “yacht” that cruises the pool. To make it all real, I built a fully functional e-commerce site using WooCommerce and integrated a dropshipping provider so the store actually works—because why not take a joke all the way?
This project was a creative playground where I handled all design and development end-to-end, from branding and UI to store setup and fulfillment.
